From the Manufacturer The first Go-Kart Racing game to come out for the SNES. Featuring all of the Super Mario bunch like Mario, Luigi, King Koopa, Toadstool, and the almost forgotten Donkey Kong Jr. Collect many power ups like mushrooms to speed you up; throw Koopa shells or banana peels at your opponent's to slow them down, plus many more items. The Battle mode is an excellent two player game, use the split screen view to watch both players battle it out. Super Mario Kart is fun and exciting addition to family of Mario games.

±1±: Best Buy I first played this game in about 1994, a couple years after it first came out, at a friend's house. At this time Mario Kart was one of the most popular games for the SNES. My friends and I would have tournaments, though usually on battle mode. We liked Yoshi and Peach because their turning ability was better than the others, but we used Toad and Koopa Troopa during races because of their superior control at drifting.

One thing I liked about this game the most is you needed skill more than luck to win. You didn't have blue shells or clouds hampering your progress. I have to say,even now at 28, it is still one of my all time favorites. on Sale!
